Penrith Castle Details

Penrith Castle is a ruined courtyard castle built in the early 15th century for the Neville family. It later became the property of Richard of Gloucester (later Richard III) at which point it was retained by the Crown. It was decayed by 1580 and part demolished in the 17th century. Today it is open as part of a public park.
