Llyssun Castle

Llyssun Castle is a small set of earthworks interpreted as a motte and bailey castle on a narrow glacial ridge in the middle of agricultural fields. The motte, which has a rounded summit of only 4 metres across, is surrounded by a ditch, and the bailey is only 16 metres by 10. However, the ridge itself is eroded away and the site was larger than this. The monument is clearly visible from the public road running adjacent to the field, but permission to access the site must be obtained from the farmer.
