Lleiniog Beach Mound

Lleiniog Beach Mound is a small mound at the end of a lengthy section of foreshore by the mouth of the Afon Lleiniog, and next to a public car park. It is overgrown by trees and inaccessible as a result. A ditch separates it from the foreshore, and the appearance is of a medieval ditched motte. It is far from clear, however, whether this is a motte or not, and it may have been a landscaped garden feature associated with Lleiniog Mansion or the 17th century works on the summit of Aberlleiniog Castle.
