Llawhaden Castle is an impressive ringwork that was converted into a stone castle for the Bishops of St Davids, and formed the seat of their principal lay barony. The stone castle probably dates to the late 13th century, and remained in use by the Bishops into the 15th century. It was partly dismantled in the 1530s and was pillaged for its masonry afterwards. The castle is maintained by Cadw as a tourist attraction, and is easily accessible from the village.
