Llanvaches Castle

Llanvaches Castle was a modest castle or fortified manor of some description occupying high ground to the north of the settlement of Llanvaches. What remains are turf covered footings of a rectangular structure; there is a faint suggestion in LIDAR of a defensive ditch. The site is accessible via a footpath, but permission to access the field should be considered as it is used for livestock. It has been suggested that part of the site is built over, which presumably refers to the crescent of modern houses to the south – but this does not impact the footings that remain visible.
