Llantrithyd Castle is a much denuded earthwork which is all that remains of a ringwork that overlooks the headwaters of the Nant Llantrithyd, and the parish church. The defences consisted of a ditch and a bank around the perimeter of the mound in the centre. The north-west part of the site has been destroyed by quarrying. Excavation showed that the ringwork contained masonry buildings of the 12th century. Today the site is within a field and cannot be seen from the public road, so permission to access the site would be needed.
