Llanquian Castle is a small mound on a spur of land overlooking the Nant Aberthin, which eventually ends up in the Afon Thaw. A short distance to the east is a large fortified enclosure, the Llanquian Wood Hillfort. The mound has traces of a ditch, a partial perimeter bank, and scattered remains of masonry representing a quadrangular building interpreted as a possible tower or hall. The whole site is overgrown with trees and cannot be seen from public roads – permission will need to be obtained to access it from the farm.
