Llangadfan Motte is a badly damaged and largely vanished earthwork which sits on the boundary between the main “A” road and a caravan park. It is overgrown by trees and permission must be sought from the adjacent hotel or the caravan park if you wish to look at it. The motte was ditched in the late 18th century, but less than half the mound remains due to the construction of the 19th century hotel. Although a rectangular bailey was mapped out in 1932 to the south of the motte and hotel, there are no hints of it on LIDAR or the ground.
