Llanfyrnach Motte is a ditched mound which sits on private property immediately opposite to the parish church. The mound is completely covered by mature trees, and despite the fact that the public road wraps around the perimeter to the SE and SE, it cannot be seen easily. The top of the mound is shown by LIDAR as having a pronounced dish, recorded as over 2 metres deep, and having masonry around the internal edge. There is no evidence of a bailey, although property boundaries may preserve its location to the NE. It is possible that the monument is in fact a collapsed round tower-keep.
