Llandefaelog Fach Motte

Llandefaelog Fach Motte is a small ditched motte and platform bailey which is completely overgrown by trees and in a private garden opposite to St Maelog’s church. It is not possible to see the earthworks from the public road, so the site is not publicly accessible at all. The site overlooks the confluence of an unnamed stream on the west side of the Afon Rhonddu, is overlooked by higher ground, and is the only castle site in the river valley for some considerable distance.
