Langstone Court Motte

Langstone Court motte is the heavily overgrown and slightly mutilated remains of a motte with a possible bailey situated immediately next to a public road just south of the M4. The site is at the northern edge of an area of higher ground, and is a short distance away from the parish church. The entire site is within private grounds and is not well maintained but just about visible – the public road has removed part of the motte, which was crowned with masonry suggestive of a shell-keep.
