Kinnaird Castle in Perthshire is a tall tower house occupying a rocky crag overlooking a small burn and the village of Kinnaird. It is clearly visible from the village, and it is possible to walk up alongside it using a public footpath. The castle is occupied and is not open to the public.

The tower replaced an earlier castle in Kinnaird village on Barton Hill, but it is not clear for how long the earlier site was occupied – the earliest mention of the tower is 1514 when Andrew de Kinnaird granted it to William, Lord Ruthven, although this does not appear to have been a long term situation, and eventually John de Kinnaird resigned the estate to King James VI. The castle does not appear to have seen military action under any of its owners, although it was part of a forfeited estate in 1715 when the Threipland family rebelled as Jacobites. The tower was extended with a two storey house to the east; although there is a 1610 datestone on it this is clearly reused. Remnants of a courtyard wall can also be seen. Much of the castle was dismantled in the latter 18th century, and it needed renovation after it was bought by Sir Patrick Murray Threapland in the 19th. After e brief period as a museum it was converted back to residential use.
