Hen Domen Llansantffraid Deuddwr

Hen Domen Llansantffraid Deuddwr is a small and isolated mound with a possible ditch on a hilltop location overlooking the confluence of the Afon Tanat with the larger Vrnwy. The land it looks over is wide and flat and forms part of the wider Severn floodplain – and there are several older defensive structures in the vicinity, but it has been suggested it may not have been a motte but is a burial mound. Access to the tree-covered site – which cannot be seen from public roads – is over several fields, meaning permission to get there must be obtained.
