Gelli Garn Ringwork is a small circular ditched and banked enclosure which has been reduced by ploughing. To the east, and more reduced than the ringwork, is a rectangular platform with traces of an external ditch. The site is in a private paddock, but is partly visible from the public road to the south over a hedge, and is on a broad area of high land to the east of the fertile lands of the Afon Ewenny. The parish church of St Mary is about half a mile to the north-west, separate to the small settlement associated with the castle.
