Eglwys Cross Motte

Eglwys Cross Motte is a modest sized ditched motte adjacent to the public road through the hamlet. There is a suggestion of a possible bailey to the east. The hedges make a good view of the motte awkward, but it is possible to see. As the enclosure is used for agriculture, permission must be gained to access it. The motte is not particularly defensive, and sits on a low watershed for two streams which eventually join and run into the Dee.
