Domen Gastell Llanfechain

Domen Gastell Llanfechain is a well defined ditched motte with attached bailey, partly eroded by the Afon Cain. A short distance away, but the same side of the river, is the parish church of St Garmon, enclosed within a ditch, and also on the scarp of the river valley. The motte is clearly visible from the main road through the village, and the site is on land used for livestock, so access should be arranged with the farmer if you wish to look closer.
