Domen Gastell Llandrinio, much denuded e/w of motte & bailey largely destroyed by floodworks

Domen Gastell Llandrinio is shown on the old Ordnance Survey maps as consisting of two distinct earthworks; these were already eroded by the River Severn by this date and as such cannot properly be assessed. However it appears that one was perhaps round and the second sub-rectangular. Archaeology carried out in 2000 more correctly showed the bailey kidney-shaped in more standard association to the motte, and whilst the site was partly destroyed by enclosure in the 18th century, the vague earthworks can still be seen by LIDAR in the field today. I doubt much can be identified on the ground.
