Dolbedwin Motte

Dolbedwin Motte is a ditched mound on a small knoll overlooking the headwaters of a minor watercourse, which eventually flows into the Wye river system. To the south-west is an extensive boggy upland saddle (now a nature reserve) which does provide the mound with some defence, and the other side leads down to Painscastle. The mound is tree-covered, and easily visible from the nearby public road, but it is fenced off and permission ought to be gained to access it.
