Dingstopple Mound is a small motte-like earthwork surrounded by a wet ditch supplied with spring water which eventually drains into the Eastern Cleddau river system. It does not appear to have much strategic value, and there are numerous defensive earthworks in the vicinity, including the episcopal seat at Llawhaden. As such it may have been used as a hunting seat, with a modest hall on top of the mound. Its crown of trees can be seen from the public road, and access would probably be through the farm as it is surrounded by agricultural land.
