Din Geraint

Cardigan Old Castle is a fortified promontory that is overgrown with trees and other vegetation, and lies beyond fields used for livestock, so permission should be gained from Old Castle Farm if you wish to see it. The defences consist of a slightly curving ditch with an internal upcast bank, and a possible outer enclosure before the southern entrance. Part of the site has been eroded by the river, and it is tentatively identified with the castle founded in 1093 at Aberteifi.
