Cymer Motte is a roughly round motte which was erected on top of a ridge in high ground to the north-east of Dolgellau. The summit of the motte has a marked depression in it, and in the 18th century a small house was built on the top, now in ruins. The surrounding fields are used for grazing and are surrounded by walls and barbed wire, meaning that only a view from a distance can be achieved without prior arrangement.
