Craig Ruperra Motte is a medium sized ditched motte sited within the earthworks of a hillfort just north-east of Ruperra Castle, a 17th century mock castle that was damaged by fire in the 18th century and then gutted after army use in world War 2. The hillfort is covered with forestry, and the motte is accessible by footpath. A summer house was built on the motte in the 18th century, no longer visible. Today the motte lies within the landscape of the mansion, managed by a charitable trust.
