Coleshill Castle, also known as Hen Blas, is a fortified promontory site consisting of two enclosures which could be modelled as a motte and bailey. It may have been founded by the mid 12th century, remaining in intermittent use until the mid 13th, and the defences have been denuded through agricultural use – fields surround it to north and south meaning that permission to access the site must be obtained despite the proximity of a farm track. It was reused until the late 14th century as a defended manorial centre, and then abandoned.
