Cil Ifor is the name given to a hillfort overlooking the village of Llanrhydian and the estuary of the Afon Loughor, notoriously treacherous in medieval times. At the eastern end of the hillfort is a smaller enclosure separated from the main fort by a ditch and bank and which is believed to have served as a medieval ringwork. The hillfort can be clearly seen from public roads, but is surrounded by fields used for agriculture, so permission should be gained from the farmer if a closer look is needed.
