Castle Hill Brora is a modest ditched motte occupying the western end of an elongated glacial hill on the south side of the River Brora. There is no evidence for a formal bailey, but the flattened eastern portion of the hill could easily have served this purpose. It most likely was founded in the late 12th or early 13th century by the Moravia family during their conquest of Sutherland, and abandoned by the early 14th.
