Castell Pen-yr-Allt is an irregular shaped ringwork sitting at the edge of fields used for agriculture. It looks over a ravine containing the headwaters of a minor tributary of the River Teifi, and there are other fortified sites farther down the watercourse. A roughly round mound within the enclosed area is believed to contain the masonry of a fallen round tower on the statement of a 19th century clergyman claiming to remember foundations there. Access to the site, which cannot be seen from the public road, is via the farm from which permission should be sought for access.
