Castell Meurig

Castell Meurig is a well-preserved ditched motte with an associated bailey enclosed by a rampart. Part of this bailey is now occupied by the modern farm buildings of Bryncastell and a house, and therefore it is inaccessible to the public, but good views can be had from the roadside. The castle is sited at the entrance to a valley containing a substantial tributary of the Tywi, and the location also has good views across the valley itself.
