Castell Mawr Llanboidy

Catell Mawr Llanboidy is a ditched motte with a bailey sited on high land to the SE of the parish church of St Brynach and overlooking a river confluence. About 400 metres to the south is an Iron Age fortified promontory with double rampart and ditch defences. The castle lies in a field used for livestock, so permission should be gained to access the site, but the profile of motte and bailey are both visible from the public road running alongside the field.
