Castell Mael

Castell Mael is a fortified promontory site formed between Nant y Ffynnon and the River Anghof. The site is occupied by a house and is not accessible to the public. It cannot be seen from a public road although it lies within the village of Puncheston. The defences consist of a long curved bank with an external ditch – there is some evidence to suggest that the bank ran around the edges of the promontory to enclose the site. The entrance has been destroyed during the reuse of the site.
