Castell Madoc

Castell Madoc is a ringwork with a largely vanished ditch within the grounds of the house bearing the same name. Also within the grounds is a small mound which may be a motte that was later adapted to form a garden feature. LIDAR shows a number of earthworks around the grounds which may in part be survivors of a bailey for the ringwork, which sits at the top of a bank overlooking Nant Fawr, a tributary of the Rhonddu. Castle Madoc House used to offer accommodation, but this may no longer be the case.
