Castell Llwyn Bedw is a large ditched motte erected in low lying and boggy ground. A short distance to the east is the source of a minor watercourse called the Nant Wern, which drains into the Teifi. To the north is an area which drains into the Teifi separately – the two drainage areas are separated by the prominent hill crowned by Craig Gwrtheyrn, a hillfort traditionally associated with Vortigern, a 5th century figure. The site cannot be seen from public roads, but is adjacent to a private farm track.
