Castell Gwynionydd is a large ditched and banked enclosure built at the edge of a river cliff and overlooking the Teifi Valley. The enclosed area is roughly D-shaped and about 50 metres across – it may have been eroded to the south by landslip. There is a possible entrance causeway across the earthworks on the east side, but this may also be landslip. The whole site is covered with trees and cannot be seen from the public road below save as the ditch profiles. There is no obvious way to access the site.
