Castell Du Llanfihangel-ar-Arth

Castell Du Llanfihangel-ar-Arth is an isolated ditched motte of modest size sat in agricultural fields on a north-facing slope overlooking a tributary of the River Teifi high in the hills. Perhaps a mile and a half downstream is the larger and more impressive Pencader Castle, and it may be this was a satellite property of the larger castle, or a hunting lodge. It has been mutilated by quarrying. Surrounded by fields, it cannot be seen from the public road, and it would be necessary to ask the farmer for access if you wish to visit.
