Castell Dinas

Castell Dinas is a badly ruined masonry castle of three wards including a rectangular keep which was built within the ramparts of an Iron Age hillfort. The hilltop site has spectacular views – but it’s quite a strenuous walk to get to the site! Access is free, although parking is problematic, and the castle can be seen from parts of the main road if you know which hill to look for. It was falling into disrepair as early as the 1330s and never appears to have been brought back to good order.
