Castell Crugerydd

Castell Crugerydd is a small motte and bailey castle built on a prominent hilltop projecting from much higher hills to the east and overlooking the upper valley of the River Edw. It is visible from the A44, and there is a bridleway signposted across the field it occupies – but there is no parking. It dates to the 12th century and may well have be founded by one of the local Welsh lords.
