Carreg Cennen Castle is an impressive and interesting castle which may in part date to the mid 13th century, but is mostly a later rebuild. The towered courtyard has an unusual and lengthy barbican reminiscent of Goodrich, and the towers have an unusual polygonal plan. Beneath the castle is a lengthy tunnel which must have served multiple purposes, and today can be explored with a torch. It is open to the public and well worth the visit, but the access roads can be narrow at times. The tea rooms are excellent!
