Caergwrle Castle is a ruined stone castle erected in the mid 13th century and maintained into the 14th. It is best known as being the castle of Dafydd ap Gruffudd, and is an interesting ruin, although the keep has partially fallen over the quarried cliff. It is free to access and the grounds about are a public park. It is now maintained by Cadw.
