Caer Siac

Caer Siac is a badly mutilated mound at the end of a narrow ridge to the north-east of the village of Bettws Cedewain. The mound is protected by a ditch across the width of the ridge to the SW, and to the NE there is a terrace at the same height. If there ever was a settlement on the ridge, this has now been destroyed as it is the site of Bettws Game Farm, although the mound itself survives beneath trees. It may have served as the seat of the Welsh lords of Cedewain.
