Bryn Derwen Motte is a set of earthworks that are usually interpreted as a mutilated motte and bailey castle. It is sited on a steep bank overlooking the Severn, and the remains are in a field used for agriculture, so permission should be sought to access it. LIDAR shows that the principal remains are a circular ditch, within which is a denuded platform that may have once held a motte. To the northeast, the suggested bailey area is occupied by farm buildings, with no remains of earthworks.
