Beaumaris is a large and impressive ruined stone castle dating from the late 13th century. It is well-preserved and shows a good example of the concentric design. It was built in response to the 1294/95 Welsh Revolt for Edward I, but was never completed to its original design, eventually being abandoned in the 17th century. It is a Cadw property.
