Abergeldie Castle is a tower house of the Gordon family dating to the 16th century, and still occupied by the family. It can be seen from the north bank of the River Dee, which nearly caused the tower to collapse into the river in the floods of 2016.

Abergeldie was granted to a younger son of the Earl of Huntly in 1482, and the tower was built by the 3rd or 4th laird in the middle of the 16th century. It was repeatedly besieged and garrisoned during the Jacobite period, and was leased by the royal family in the mid 19th century.
