Aberedw Motte is a large mound which was erected at the top of steep slopes overlooking the river Edw, which have eroded away part of the site. It is possible that the summit hides the remains of a round stone tower. The mound is adjacent to a public footpath, and there is a well trodden path to the summit, although strictly speaking there is no access. It probably dates to the 13th century, and was abandoned in favour of the later Aberedw Castle.
